70 exhibitors, countless beers, 2 stages and a ton of activities. How to navigate all of this? We will help you! The ones who are new here and the ones who are with us for the 9th time.

16.30 – The official opening of the 9th WGBF

Elżbieta Lenczyk – director of the Festival and the Festival initiators:  Joanna Boś i Agnieszka Wołczaska – Prasolik – will officially welcome you to the Festival

 

16.45 – Beer Tourism Zone – The Brewing Museum Presentation 

The Brewing Museum in Piotrków Trybunalski is one of a kind. There you can learn the step by step of making beer and so much more. Learn what the Museum has to offer and why you should visit.

 

17.15Beer and sports – can it be done? 

Wojtek Frączyk (Widawa Brewery)  the organizer of Polski Craft! vs Czarni Chrząstawa match, Agnieszka Wołczaska-Prasolik (Wrocław Good Beer Festival, Warsztat Piwowarski) and other guests will discus the subject a bit seriously and a lot facetiously.

 

18.15A contest for the audience under the patronage of the Wrocław Brewing Workshops

You can win tickets to the Meeting of Homebrewers (Saturday) or festival merchandise. The contest will include questions about homebrewing and the Workshops, come one and all!

 

18.30 – „Women in craft brewing in Poland and abroad” 

Panel- Invited guests: Tomek Kopyra, Herlinda Heras, (Sonoma State University), Marta Jankowska (Pink Boots Society), Agnieszka Wołczaska – Prasolik (Warsztat Piwowarski, WGBF, WBW), Agnieszka Skórka (Browar Alternatywa). 

Tomek Kopyra, beer vlogger, taster and beer enthusiast invites on stage women involved in the craft beer stage. How did they get into craft beer, why and other questions will be answered by Herlinda Heras, a beer educator from Sonoma State University,  Marta Jankowska, a proprietor of a San Diego brewery who is involved in the Pink Boots Society (a non-profit which educates and empowers women in beer brewing) and other ladies of the Polish beer world.

You can win tickets to the brewing workshops, festival beer and much more!

 

20.00 – 24.00 Club music on the festival beach

The cultural picnic is a cultural zone that accompanies the Good Beer Festival. It has concerts, a meet up area, films and a special kids section, all in a light picnic vibe. We want everyone to be able to find something fun here. The cultural picnic will feature only Polish artists.

A special place for not only homebrewers. You can see how beer is brewed, meet brewers, attend a class or two and test yourself for taste daltonism. The Polish Homebrewers Association will be happy to talk recipes, ingredients and other trade tricks with you as will the representatives of brewing shops. 

 

16.00 – 24.00 – From homebrewing to a brewery – exhibition 

You will be able to see the profiles of known brewers that started at home.

Twój Browar is the first in Wrocław specialty shop which sells beer brewing products run by homebrewers. 

 

17.00 and 19.00*- “Tasting with a  specialist” – tasting training 

Do you actually know what you are drinking? Come to a workshop that will teach you how to properly taste beer, recognize beer styles and expand your knowledge of the subject. The instructor, a PSPD judge, will show you how to enjoy the complexities of beer and will share his vast knowledge while sampling six different beer styles (100ml each). 

Instructor – Krzysztof Lechowski, certified  PSPD judge.

Cost: 30 zł

Promotional stand, beer brewing demonstration and the taste daltonism test 

 

16.00 – 20.00 – BeerBob – homebrewers assistance project

A project by OpenBrewery which wants to develop tools to help measurements on a homebrewing scale. 

“We want to not only  design tools but also invite homebrewers to a community that will collect the data from these automated measurements. It will help us analyze the brewing process and expand our knowledge of the factors that affect the taste and parameters of beer.

A place that showcases interesting tourist destinations that involve beer, where apart form drinking a good beer you can find an unforgettable experience. This year we have interesting propositions from Poland and abroad like a beer SPA,  Berlin craft beer tours or the Kłodzko Fortress which will have unique board games.

This year the Wrocław Good Beer Festival invites you to see the Beer Poster Gallery. Beer labels have transformed over the last few years. Breweries pay close attention to what they put on their bottles and collaborate with great artist, some outside of the beer scene. The final effect is the prefect preview of what is inside. Come and see the best projects in poster form. Don’t miss it!

16.00 – 24.00

A unique fake beach which will host a DJ surrounded by food trucks which will allow you not only to quench your hunger but also to relax and have a good time. The food selection will be huge, we especially recommend the stand Podróże z Top Szefową – Mariola Monczak&Piotr Gładczak, which will set out to prove that festival and street food doesn’t have to be boring.

13.20 – Beer Tourism Zone  – Berlin craft beer 

Clifton Kinchen from the Berlin Craft Beer Experience, an experienced tour guide to Berlin and its craft beer will tell you about the Berlin craft beer scene and why you should visit and try it for yourself.

 

14.00 – Live Beer Blogging – Tomek Kopyra, Reuben Gray (The Tale of the Ale, Beoir), Martin Voigt (proBIER.tv), Michał ‘Docent’ Maranda (Polskie Minibrowary)

Live Beer Blogging – Tomek Kopyra, i Martin Voight will once again dissect what the breweries at the Festival have to offer. What will make their list? Do you agree? Find out on Saturday!

 

15.00 – Contest

Piotr Gładczak from Wrocławskie Podróże Kulinarnne and Browar Cztery Ściany have a freshly brewed beer and an interesting contest for you.

 

15.15 Foodpairing – Mariola Monczek (Master Chef contestant) i Piotr Gładczak (Wrocławskie Podróże Kulinarne)

Our guests will begin by preparing a snack for the audience, will tell you why and what kind of beer suit sit best. They will also tell you why you should have fun with flavors and why braking foodpairing rules can be fun.

 

16.15 Tasting – how, what and where?

A crash course in beer tasting. Where you can find the rinsers and why you should use them. Prepared by Piwny Klub and their guests.  

 

17.00 – Results of the Home Beer Contest

 

17.15 – Where is Polish beer headed? Discussion by beer bloggers by Piwny Klub
Just a few years ago a lot of us would travel even a few towns over to get Atak Chmielu.  Today we’re not fazed by craft beer in supermarkets or your local store. A lot of them are expanding, going on the open market and so on. Where does that lead? How will Polish craft beer look in the future? Piwny Klub will discuss it with the Polish beer bloggers.  

 

18.00 – Beer of the Year 2017 contest Gala

Nepomucen, Zakładowy i Maryensztadt are the breweries that you chose last year – today we will give out  commemorative plaques. The gala will be accompanied by the band Papadram

 

19.15 – „2 on 1 with Tomek Kopyra”, or Piwny Klub will talk to the biggest beer blogger in Poland. About beer and more.

“Cześć, tutaj Tomek Kopyra z blogu blog.kopyra.com!” Most Polish beer lovers know this sentence. Piwny klub will talk with Tomek Kopyra about beer, fantasy and Oborniki Śląskie.  

 

20.00 – 24.00 – Club music on the festival beach

A special place for not only homebrewers. You can see how beer is brewed, meet brewers, attend a class or two and test yourself for taste daltonism. The Polish Homebrewers Association will be happy to talk recipes, ingredients and other trade tricks with you as will the representatives of brewing shops. 

 

13.00 – 16.00 – Homebrewers meet up – closed part 

For the 15th time homebrewers from all over the country will meet up, share experiences, recipes and meet new people. Till 2010 they would meet in different locations in Wrocław and since 2010 have a home at the Wrocław Good Beer Festival. 

 

16.30 – 18.30 – Open meet up with Homebrewers

You can meet about 80 homebrewers- come and see what they brought with them! 

Cost: 10 zł   Tickets available at the Festival Bureau.

Our guests will show you what route multitaps and beer serving places could be taking. They will show you that you don’t have to have a complicated menu to satisfy your guests.

16.00 –  Why is craft beer outrunning corporate beer? 

Probably a lot of you are wondering what’s the difference between craft beer and the beer generally available at supermarkets? Definitely in price, but what else? Taste? Aroma? Check out our lecture paired with a tasting and see why good beer is better.

Zapraszamy na warsztaty słodowej sensoryki z Pawłem Leszczyńskim z Viking Malt. Paweł Leszczyński jest piwowarem domowym i certyfikowanym sędzią piwnym, specjalizuje się w szkoleniach sensorycznych. Jako doradca ds. browarów rzemieślniczych pracuje w słodowni Viking Malt. Jest też współorganizatorem Warszawskiego Festiwalu Piwa. – Analiza sensoryczna jest jedną z podstaw, po jakie może sięgnąć piwowar wybierając słód – podkreśla Paweł Leszczyński. – Jego smak i aromat w dużej mierze wpływa na ostateczny smak piwa. Zależy nie tylko od procesu słodowania i użytej przy tym technologii, ale też od odmiany jęczmienia i warunków uprawy. Kluczowa w procesie produkcji jest wieloletnia współpraca słodownika z rolnikami. W testach sensorycznych możliwa jest ocena barwy i homogeniczności ziarna oraz zapachu i smaku słodów. Na ćwiczeniach ocenimy słody polskie z tegorocznych zbiorów oraz fińskie słody karmelowe – podsumowuje Paweł Leszczyński.
